Our goal at Dental Safety Solutions is to help dentists make the transition to OSHA compliant mercury-safe dentistry as easy as possible. The SMART package configurator was created to offer an assortment of products necessary for those IAOMT members who are certified in the “Safe Mercury Amalgam Removal Technique” (SMART). Utilizing the SMART package configurator reduces the time it takes to procure the various items recommended for the SMART program. Additionally, items can be set to auto-order at discounted prices, thus saving dentists both time and money. While not a requirement of SMART certification, OSHA compliance products and services will be offered as well. For those who already have most items, we also offer various categories of SMART packages.

INSTRUCTIONS: Each page offers a set of various recommended items (not to be construed as an endorsement of any specific product). Evaluate the quantity and automatic ordering you want and then click “Add to Cart” for that item. Once you’ve made all your selections on a particular page, click the next page number at the bottom of each page to move onto the next section. At the end of the process you will automatically be taken to your cart to verify your order and determine shipping for those items that do not offer flat rate or free shipping.

Additionally, we know that sometimes our wallets are smaller than our ambitions will allow, so that’s why we offer convenient financing to help get you practicing Mercury-Safe dentistry as soon as possible. If that’s the case, make sure to be logged in to your account and then once you’ve added what you want to your shopping cart, click the “Save & Share Cart” button. In the popup window, name your saved cart with the word “financing”, then click the “Send Cart in an Email” button.  In the next window enter your email and financing@dentalsafetysolutions.com and then click “Send Cart Email“. Once we receive your email with the items loaded into your saved cart, we will review it and contact you soon there-after.

The SMART recommendations of The International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology are based upon published scientific studies. For access to the most recent science supporting SMART, please check their website.

AIR FILTRATION: Each room where mercury fillings are removed should have adequate filtration in place,101,102,103 which requires a high-volume air filtration system (such as an at source oral aerosol vacuum) capable of removing mercury vapor and mercury contaminated particulate matter generated during the removal of one or more mercury fillings.104,105,106
